No Calendar API for iPhone SDK?

I had to code my own.

I’m building an app for tracking my fatherly duties with my son. One of the bigger surprises is that there isn’t a calendar API for use. You have to use NSCalendar, NSDater, NSDateformatter to roll your own. Took me a couple of days but I built one that works pretty well but it isn’t something I can show to someone and say “Look! I built a calendar!”

Its just not impressive and something that most people would assume is just available — even though if you think about it, there isn’t a lot of apps with calendars.

I think I’m going to package it up and release it as a plug-in for other developers to use.
