Yesterday, at 9:55pm Apple was nice enough to send me this message about my Good Nanny iphone application:
Your application is now Ready for Sale. …
Application Name: Good Nanny
Application Version Number: 1.0
It’s weird to say but I love this app. Its a tracker for keeping all the “events” for my little boy. Its different from its competitors in that its less about graphs and quantities and more about keeping track of what happened in a day, month, or year. I basically designed this using the sheets from our day care and unlike most of the apps on my iPhone — it has long term use. Its customizable, easy to set up, and in my opinion: a bargain at $3.99.
iPhone Application Usage Examples
I stay home on Thursday to watch my little guy. I use Good Nanny to keep track of diapers, naps, snacks, tv time, and at the end of the day I send a list to my wife. She gets a nice list of everything that our little guy did. Done.
We have a babysitter on tuesdays. She uses the application and syncs up the events. I sync them to my device and they are part of the history now. She gave him Motrin at 3:00pm. Okay, don’t give him more. Good to know.
The doctor wants to know when his last ear infection was. I have a custom button called “Scratching at Ear.” I opened the log and did a quick search and told her immediately. Valuable information, quickly gotten.
These are things that are important with an iphone application and don’t weigh down a parent.
